I love this post. It's brimming with self-actualization.
This message of empowered feminitiy is also in the Bible, if you read between the lines. It's there when Martha confronts Jesus in the road (huge social taboo) as he approaches Lazarus' grave and "yells" at him for being too late to save her brother. What follows is what I call the "Marthine" confession, where Martha (before Peter chronologically, I think) identifies Jesus as her savior.
It's there when Jesus gives Mary permission to abandon "women's work" in favor of her personal spiritual development.
It's there in the courage of the women who went to annoint Jesus' body despite the fact that they were honoring the guarded body of a criminal.
You may be too young to remember the Highlights for Children magazines that always seemed to be in dentists offices when I was growing up. They had drawings in which the artist had disguised other figures. The directions would say something like, "Find the children hidden in the apple tree." The examples of how Christianity empowers women are a lot like that to me. I have to look hard, but they're there.

Wow! I am so in love with this post. I need to walk away and let it sink in, but I can for certain feel something inside of me screaming "YES!" When I figure it out, I'll say more but Jenni, I love it.
